WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN
A SUNG PRAYER TO THE ESSENCE OF LIFE
INTRODUCTION
Most of the pieces are inspirations – both musical and textual – that ‘communicated’ themselves to Eli Schewa at unexpected moments between July 2024 and July 2025. Their common theme is how to open access between the physical and ethereal worlds on various levels, such as the Angels or the Great Mother.
The song ‘Brothers and Sisters of Light’ is an expression of our belief that there are universal benevolent Beings of Light that want to help us in our global process. Some of the songs are dedicated to Angelic orders such as the Ishim, the Elim, the Erelim, the Hashmalim, the Thrones and Cherubim and Seraphim, who are intimately connected with humanity, but also to the mighty heavenly powers of Michael (e.g. Revelation 12:7-8), Melchizedek (e.g. Genesis 14:18), and Metatron (e.g. Genesis 17:1). According to the wisdom teachings of the Kabbalah all of these powers are united within the human being, who represents a divinely created microcosm.
Moreover, Eli Schewa offers her harmonious melodies in worship of Divine Love, the Essence of Life from which all of us originated and by which all are forever loved. She does this mostly in the name of the feminine essence of the Great Mother but here, for the first time, also addresses by name the power of the loving Father. Using familiar prayers from the spiritual traditions of the West such as the Pie Jesu, the Sacred Name of Mary together with the energies of Sophia, of Hallelujah, and the rarely dramatized love of Mary Magdalene and Christ, the songs generate a revival of these spiritual themes.
Combining select words with prayers from ancient languages such as the Egyptian, Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Sanskrit and Latin, but also with current languages such as her own native German, the commonly understood English, with Hindi (the official language of India) and French, as well as with Russian, Ukrainian and Arabic – despite their differences and notwithstanding the current world situation – creates a common ground.
Mother Earth who provides for us as spiritual beings to have a physical experience plays the most important role: “We are your children” – “You are our mother”. Eli Schewa is profoundly touched by the beauty, diversity, generosity, intelligence, faithfulness and strength that Mother Nature gifts to us each day.
The many challenges that we on planet Earth experience today are much on Eli Schewa’s mind. Hence, this album is given as a prayer, a plea for help from the spiritual world, and a call to awakening directed at us all. This is a prayer intended to sing to the Essence of Life, the Love that lies at the heart of all!
With this new album “We Are Your Children” Eli Schewa meanders between newly conceived musical colorations, temperaments and simple melodies inviting to sing along. Chromatic movements and meditative harmonies merge into one another.
All of the songs are backed by Eli Schewa herself on a Celtic Gothic harp (made by Claude Biolay at Lac de Neuchâtel, Switzerland) and a concert harp (Salvi/Erard, revised by Gerard David, Sainte-Croix, Switzerland) which was the harp she learned to play as a child and that returned to her recently in a propitious way. The harp, especially the concert harp, reveals itself in a new light and musical expression.
Eli Schewa’s motivation is to help expand human awareness of the greater dimensions and connections of life. She is convinced that our personal process of transformation plays a central role in collective change. Healing the individual can actively contribute to the peace of the collective and increase hope for a bright future of our planetary humanity learning to live as a fellowship of peace.
