Biography

After training as a music and movement pedagogue at the HKB (Bern University of the Arts, 2004-2008), Elischewa Dreyfus went on to complete a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy, which gave her the exceptional opportunity to join the Swiss Opera Studio and to work on projects, particularly at the Biel/Solothurn City Theatre. During her studies she received lessons from Hanspeter Blochwitz and private lessons from the reformed vocal pedagogues Marianne Prato (inspired by Valborg Werbeck) and Susanna Schneeberger (Lichtenberger Method). Since 2015 she has also received important impulses from Barbara Erni.

After numerous music theatre projects with children and young people at the Stadttheater Biel (Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn) and employments as an assistant and vocal teacher in the Music and Movement degree programme at the HKB, she dedicated herself to diverse music and stage projects.

She participated in projects of the Baroque Orchestra Allegria (Max Flückiger/Andreas Heiniger) and collegium musicum Biel' (Katrin Lutherbacher), was engaged as a soloist by choirs such as the Biel Chamber Choir (including J. S. Bach: Magnificat, G. F. Händel: Messiah) and sang in church services, international festivals and various celebrations.

Together with her husband Lukas Dreyfus, she conceived and realised projects as a singer and project manager that combine music with pantomime and movement to show deep laws of life and to give expression to the spiritual dimension with these artistic media.

Now, in her new creative phase, she dedicates herself with a clear focus on harmonious and peacemaking sounds through the power of her authentic voice.

Her new album, “Emerged from the Light”, was released in December 2020 and is resonating worldwide.

Elischewa Dreyfus lives in Biel with her husband Lukas and their two daughters.
